In this video, Variobotic shows you how to implement a simple dispensing task with the DOBOT MG400 industrial robot. The robot has the task of applying a layer of glue to a sheet metal part using a defined point sequence. This sheet metal part will have a sealing strip glued onto it by the DOBOT MG400.

With a weight of 8 kg, the DOBOT MG400 is a lightweight desktop robot with a base area smaller than a piece of A4 paper. It is designed to make automation accessible and affordable for small and medium-sized businesses. With a payload of 750g, a maximum reach of 440mm and hand guidance and collision detection, the MG400 is the perfect robot to implement small automation solutions. An integrated vibration damping algorithm ensures path fidelity of multi-axis movements, improving repeatability by 60% and reducing overshoot by 70%.

The VarioFeed solution developed by Variobotic consists of the industrial robot DOBOT MG400, the flexible component separator VarioShaker 270 and two image processing systems.

In the application example, sensor housings are placed onto the component separator through a supply hopper, where the components are provided to the industrial robot in the correct shape and position. After visual recognition of the component by a camera, the DOBOT MG400 can pick up the parts. The housing is then inspected via the second camera.

This bundle combines flexible feeding and separation as well as quality control in one solution. The DOBOT robot convinces with a speed of 300°/s and a repeatability of +-0.05mm.
